Cheap Flights - Cheap Cruises - China Guide

Australia and China are my two favourite countries. Even before I met and married my wife who was born and raised in Beijing I had been fascinated by the chinese culture and history. I have also been amazed by the beauty of the varied Chinese landscapes. From the rugged mountain landscapes near Beijing that the Great Wall is built upon to the beautiful scenery around Guilin.

With Beijing now seen by billions as the successful host the 2008 Olympic games there is more of a focus on the most populous country on the planet. I have lived in Beijing and also traveled to other parts of China and as a result offer an insiders view about China.

I hope you find the guide useful. Other than Beijing, we look at the major cities such as Shanghai, Xi'an and Guangzhou.

Over time we will be adding more information covering as much about China as I can. I hope you enjoy what you find within this site as we both learn about this fascinating country. The People's Republic of China was once known as the Central Kingdom. It provides the adventurous travellers with many tempting possibilities. For the less adventurous there are still many rewarding and fascinating places to visit on an organized tour.

There is so much to see and do in China. Just how much you take in depends on how long your vacation will be. Below are some suggested itineraries that are listed based on several different time-frames.

2 Day Stopover in Beijing

If you only have two full days to experience China I suggest a stopover in Beijing. The must see attractions include the Great Wall of China, the Forbidden City and Temple of Heaven, all in and around Beijing. More details about the stopover visit are on another page.

4 Day Beijing vacation

This would include the same attactions as listed above. In addition to those fabulous attractions you should also see the magnificent Summer Palace, for some shopping visit the Silk Market. Another item to have on your list is a visit to Beijing Zoo to checkout the Pandas.

If all of this has not worn you out you can take a change of pace while seeing old Beijing on the back of a cycle rickshaw as it winds its way through the Hutongs under the shadow of the ancient Drum Tower.
For further details visit the suggested 4 day Beijing vacation page.

If you are visiting China for a longer period you would want to include a visit to Shanghai and if time permits head out west to see the Terracotta Warriors near Xi'an.

Other attactions in China include the beautiful scenery around Guilin, Tibet, Pingyao and many, many more.
