Don’t Miss These Great Fiji Attractions

If you are looking for a great island vacation, you should consider visiting Fiji. Fiji is actually a small country that can be found in the southern portion of the Pacific Ocean. The country of Fiji is actually made up of over 300 smaller islands, the two most popular being Vanua Levu and Viti Levu. Fiji is a great place to visit for couples seeking romance, newlyweds looking for the perfect honeymoon, or someone who just needs a break from the hustle and bustle of modern day life. Whatever your reasons are for visiting Fiji, you won’t run out of fun things to do while you are there.

Many people visit Fiji just to take in the beautiful island scenery, and to get in touch with the beauty of nature that can be found here. If you are interested in this sort of thing, then you would likely enjoy a visit to the Bouma Heritage Park located on the island of Taveuni. You will find lots of beautiful forests to explore, breathtaking waterfalls to gaze at in awe, and some terrific flora and fauna as well. Take a swim in one of the extraordinary natural pools, or enjoying nature by hiking down some of the winding trails found here.

To take in even more great scenery, you can also check out The Garden of the Sleeping Giant, found on the island of Viti Levu. This is a plantation that is filled to the brim with exotic species of orchids, more than 2000 varieties to be exact. You can also visit the Eco Park located here, where you can get up close and personal with some native animals and fauna, a great educational experience for people of all ages.

For those true nature buffs, you should also not miss the chance to visit Koroyanitu Park, located in Lautoka. Take a hike down the trails and view the waterfalls and magnificent flower gardens to be found here. While you are here, don’t forget to visit Nausori Islands as well, where you can take in more of the great scenery, as well as visit some local villages, which will help you learn about the native culture on the island.

If you are a fan of history, then you will enjoy visiting the Fiji Museum, where you will explore many displays representing the culture and history of people native to the land. This is also another great attraction that everyone can benefit from, as there is a lot to be learned here.

For a feel of both the history and beauty the island has to offer, you should check out the Sigatoka Dunes Park. Walk through massive forests of pine trees, sand dunes, and explore mysterious burial sites as well as old pieces of culture, such as hand-made pottery.

If you like to shop, you shouldn’t bypass the wares and island delicacies to be found at the Suva Market, which has been dubbed the biggest market found in the area. Try some of the wonderful fruits grown right on the island, and look at some native crafts offered for sale here as well. They serve as great souvenirs for family and friends at home.

As you can see, there are many great things to do while on your vacation in Fiji, you just have to get out and take advantage of the wonderful attractions to be found!
