Strong wind warning for Lau, Lomaiviti

The Fiji Meteorological Services has issued a strong wind warning for land areas of Lau, Lomaiviti, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands. Fiji Met duty forecaster Rajneel Prasad told FijiLive the forecast to midnight tonight is for south to southeast winds 35 to 45 km/hr gusting to 65km/hr over Kadavu, nearby smaller islands, Lau and the Lomaiviti group.

Police hold blue light camp for Kadavu schools

Fiji Police will launch a blue light camp in Kadavu today with the aim of fighting crime and reducing urban drift. Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro told FijiLive the camp, with 150 students, will teach students about crime prevention and awareness, and the importance of completing their education so that they can become successful citizens.

A strong wind and heavy rain warning is now in place for most parts of the group. Nadi Weather Office duty forecaster Rajneel Prasad said the heavy rain warning is in place for Yasawa and Mamanuca group, Viti Levu, Lau and Lomaiviti group, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands.
