Tips for finding and booking a budget flight to Las Vegas
My first visit to Las Vegas Nevada started with a cheap flight from San Diego. Me and some of my mates from Australia had one day decided to find a flight and head over to Las Vegas. Back then we had to find our discounted flights the old fashioned way. We grabbed the yellow pages and phoned a few travel agents to enquire about a flight to Las Vegas, Nevada. After several calls we found a bargain flight. Next thing I knew we were on a flight to Las Vegas for just $29. Nowadays with the internet you have access to so much information at the click of a mouse. If you are prepared to do a bit of research you will find the cheapest flight to Las Vegas. Once you have found that bargain flight get out the credit card and book your flight. Here are some tips for finding your next flight to Las Vegas, Nevada.
- Start searching for your flight to Las Vegas Nevada as early as possible. I would suggest at least a month before your planned travel dates. This gives you an idea of what to expect and you can re-check for a few days before booking. Take note that some deals require you to book 21 days before departure. If this is too hard for you to manage and you don't mind doing things at the last minute you can wait for your cheap airfare hunt until just before you are due to fly out as you may get a really cheap fare as airlines could be trying to fill unbooked seats. The risk with this is that sometimes you may miss out altogether.
- Stay with the same airline for both directions. Getting a round trip booking is quite often not much more expensive than getting a one-way flight.
- Keep you dates flexible - this will allow a wider net to catch your cheap flight to Las Vegas. If searching for yourself on the internet you can search through a 5 day to a week date range.
- Take advantage of senior discounts or student discounts.
- Take a look at flights to Los Angeles or San Diego and take a hire car to Las Vegas. (I did this one time and it is a relatively easy journey. Although being Australian I am used to driving trips.)
- Fly on Tuesday and Wednesday and try to stay overnight on Saturday. If you can stay long enough in Vegas try a flight mid-week and then take advantage of an excursion fare. Usually an excursion fare requires that you stay at your destination on a Saturday night. If you don't you are likely to attract a business fare which is often more expensive.

Las Vegas, Nevada is a city of excitement. It is the only city I have visited where I stayed up all night. There was so much to see and do. From Circus Circus to Caesars Palace and many casinos in between. I watched some shows, did some gambling and then just walked the streets and marvelled at the colourful light shows. I also gave my tastebuds a workout and enjoyed the bargain priced meals. If you are on a diet watch out for those all you can eat joints. I found booking a hotel was a waste of time as I was in it for only a minute. Since that first visit back in 1989 I have visited several times. Each time I am amazed at the changes that have taken place. On all occasions I have returned after doing some research I have been able to find a cheap flight to get to Las Vegas Nevada.
